APDG

Airline Personnel Discussion Group (APDG)

The APDG is a forum for airline HR professionals to network on a regular basis, discuss generic issues and to receive briefings from external specialists on various topics relevant to the HR environment within the airline industry. The group's mission is to promote the ongoing development and professionalism of HR practitioners within member airlines. The APDG is not formally associated with BAR UK but it's aims and activities are supported by the Board.

Four meetings are held each year in the London area and qualified guest speakers provide educational and insightful briefings on topics ranging from UK employment law to mediation and pay trends. The APDG also operates a UK Salary Survey using an independent payroll data company. .

The group adheres strictly to anti-trust regulations and members and guest speakers may not engage in discussion (formal or informal) on any subject which would have the potential to co-ordinate or affect members’ competitive behavior in any market in which they are active. Specifically, all attendees of the Group will not enter discussions which could bear upon an individual carrier’s decisions in relation to:

  • Fares, capacity, service levels, distribution channels (on board, hard and soft products)
  • Negotiations with their employees over planned or projected wage/salaries/compensation or working conditions
  • Commercial competition and debate between member airlines
