Mike Carrivick FRAeS - Chief Executive
Joined BAR UK in September 2004, bringing with him the experience of an extensive career in aviation and business travel.
He started with 5 years at British European Airways, including a 3-year General Apprenticeship that exposed him to a wide range of airline disciplines. This was followed by a 20-year progressive career with Qantas Airways in the UK, in sales and marketing arenas.
Subsequently, he moved to Brymon European Airways, where he was on the Board of Management.
He then became Managing Director of Maersk DFDS Travel, a leading business travel agency. During his tenure there, he was active with the Guild of Business Travel Agents (now the Guild of Travel Management Companies) and was elected as its Deputy Chairman.
Following the sale of the company, he elected to go back into the airline industry, and was recruited by IATA to help transform various elements of the global Passenger Agency Programme, based in London.
Following the relocation of that position to Geneva, the opportunity arose to become Chief Executive at BAR UK.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society where he is a member of the specialist Air Transport Group. He is also a committee member of the Aviation Club of Great Britain.
