APDG

Airline Personnel Discussion Group (APDG)

The APDG is a forum for airline HR professionals, to meet on a regular basis, to network, to discuss generic issues and to receive briefings from external specialists on various topics relevant to the HR environment in the airline industry.

The group operates to promote the ongoing development and professionalism of HR practitioners from the member airlines.

Five meetings are held a year at various locations in the London area. Some of the topics covered by guest speakers recently have included: UK employment law update, Stress Management and EC Competition Law Compliance

Each meeting is accompanied by an agenda and a brief summary of the matters discussed is circulated afterwards to those airlines that attended.

Please note that members and guest speakers will refrain from engaging in any discussion (formal or informal) on any subject which would have the potential to co-ordinate or affect members’ competitive behaviour in any market in which they are active. Specifically, all attendees of the Group will not enter discussions which could bear upon an individual carrier's decisions in relation to:

  • fares, capacity, service levels, distribution channels (on board, hard and soft products)
  • negotiations with their employees over planned or projected wage / salaries / compensation or working conditions
  • commercial competition and debate between member airlines

The APDG also operate a UK Salary Survey using an independent payroll data company. Further details can be obtained from a member of the Executive Committee.
