BAR UK responds to the Government's announcement on the Future of Air Transport
BAR UK, the trade association for scheduled airlines doing business in this country, welcomes the government's decision to include the provision of a third runway at London Heathrow in the policy statement made today.
The secretary of State, in making his announcement to the House of Commons, identified the key role that our industry has in the economic and social life of the country. Our members understand that the ability of our industry to expand to meet passenger demand depends on this being accomplished in an environmentally sustainable manner. BAR UK members look forward to working with government, the airport operator and others with an interest to see a third runway developed.
