The Directors of BAR UK, the trade association for full service scheduled airlines in the UK, have elected a new Vice Chairman, Mr Raja Segran, General Manager UK & Ireland for Singapore Airlines.

BAR UK's Board has also co-opted two new Directors to fill vacancies that have occurred recently. The new Directors are Mr Joe Phelan, Managing Director European Services for American Airlines, and Mr Angel Valdemoros, General Manager UK & Ireland for Iberia. The new Directors will serve until the next AGM which is in May 2004.

Notes for editors:
BAR UK members include British Airways, bmi british midland and Virgin Atlantic, but the vast majority of its members are airlines based overseas. The chairmanship of the trade association is always held by a delegate representing a carrier based overseas. There are two Vice Chairmen, one representing a British member and the other an overseas member.
