START... New Chairman for BAR UK Brandon O'Reilly, United Airlines General Manager for the UK and Ireland, has taken over as Chairman of BAR UK, the voice of British based and foreign scheduled airlines serving the UK. Mr O'Reilly commented 'I am delighted to take up the position of Chairman at BAR UK. With a long history of serving the airline industry, I know that BAR UK has an important role to play. I look forward to working with my airline colleagues in addressing the important issues facing our industry today.' He succeeds Owe Löwenbourg, SAS General Manager for the UK, Ireland and Iceland who has moved to Brussels. Brandon O'Reilly has had a wealth of experience within the airline industry, joining British Airways as a management trainee in 1976, moving on to hold positions at American Airlines before joining United in 1998. Mr O'Reilly is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society. BAR UK represents the views of 94 member airlines that look to their trade association to protect their interests on issues ranging from the topical and contentious question of the Immigration (Carriers Liability) Act to the CAA's review of the BAA London and Manchester Airports that is under way. ...ENDS For further information contact:
