START... Gatwick Express decision a victory for airline campaign The decision by the Department for Transport to retain the Gatwick Express is a victory for common sense. It is also a victory for the airline campaign to save the service, led by BAR UK. Responding to the decision, BAR UK's Chief Executive, Mike Carrivick, said: "This outcome to the campaign to save Gatwick Express is welcome". "Whilst it does not conform to our preferred option of the last consultation, it does preserve the basic shape of the service, which is four non-stop trains an hour between London Victoria and Gatwick.
