Board changes at BAR UK

The Board of BAR UK is pleased to announce the appointment of Raja Segran, General Manager UK & Ireland for Singapore Airlines, as its new Chairman. Segran, currently Vice Chairman, succeeds Mike Carter of Continental Airlines, who is retiring.

Appointed as the new Vice Chairman is Air Canada's Robert Atkinson, General Manager Passenger Sales UK & I, who is already a Board Director.

The Board also welcomes Vincent Knoops, General Manager KLM Royal Dutch Airlines / Northwest Airlines on his appointment to the Board.

Mike Carter, congratulating Raja Segran, said 'As ever, the aviation world is facing new challenges on many fronts. BAR UK will continue to play a major role with Government, the regulators, and airport operators amongst others to address them, and Raja Segran will provide the leadership, experience and outlook required to do so.'

Thanking Mike Carter for his services and time to BAR UK, Raja Segran said 'On behalf of all of our members, I thank Mike for his leadership of BAR UK in recent years, and the contribution he has made to our aims and objectives.I now look forward to continuing that example, and to leading the Board of BAR UK during the demanding times ahead'.
