UK Aviation Security - Notice #1/2008
Date: 2 January 2008 BAR UK Statement
Restrictions on liquids and gels that can be taken on board flights remain in place. The full details can be found by clicking on the Department for Transport's webpage. However, it needs to be noted that many transiting or transferring passengers could encounter problems. For example, any passenger who arrives at an EU airport from outside the EU, on a non-EU carrier, and who has purchased liquid duty free goods will either have to re-pack them into hold baggage or have them confiscated. The restriction that cabin baggage must be restricted to one piece only has been lifted at some airports, with effect from 07 January 2008. The DfT's website lists those airports that are authorised to allow more than one piece of cabin baggage. However, this does not mean that all airlines will now permit more than one piece of cabin baggage per passenger so CHECK WITH YOUR AIRLINE BEFORE TRAVELLING. |
