The Board is chaired by Mrs Sandra Bloodworth (BI) assisted by two Vice Chairs, one who represents a British airline, and the other a foreign carrier. The term of office for the Chair is usually one or two years and the successor is usually the Vice Chair who represents a foreign airline. The provision of two Vice Chairs reflects the importance of the British based carriers to the Company and the support that they offer, as well as the participation of the foreign members. The representative of the British based carriers is permanently in the role of Vice Chair, unlike the other Vice Chair who usually succeeds as Chair. This system also allows for the regular turnover in personnel that results from representatives being posted out of the UK when their tour of duty here ends.
