  Airline Personnel Discussion Group (APDG)

The APDG is a forum for airline HR professionals, to meet on a regular basis, to network, to discuss generic issues and to receive briefings from external specialists on various topics relevant to the HR environment in the airline industry.

The group operates to promote the ongoing development and professionalism of HR practitioners from the member airlines.

Five meetings are held a year at a variety of locations in the London area. Some of the topics covered by guest speakers recently have included: the impact age discrimination legislation has had on employee benefits, the handling of irate passengers, a development session using the Belbin Team Inventory plus a mock employment tribunal.

Each meeting is accompanied by an agenda, a brief summary of the matters discussed is circulated afterwards to those airlines that attended. No issue that could be construed as being commercially sensitive is pursued unless the information is already available in the public domain.

Meetings in 2008 are scheduled for:
  • 31 January, subject: UK Employment Law Update
  • 03 April
  • 26 June
  • 25 September
  • 27 November

Membership fees are currently: £100 joining fee and thereafter £75 annual renewal.

There are currently 39 members airlines and new members are most welcome. For more information about the group, including membership, please contact a committee member below:
